The scope of this work included turning an unfinished, out-of-level and barely used basement into a functional living, office and family space. We started by working with the Owners on what their vision was and what we could do for them.
Next, we brought in an experienced architect to draw up the design. The goal of the renovation was to gain space in this house for this family that was frankly running out of room. Because they had this basement we were able to add a huge amount of livable area to this house. Some features include: LED recessed lighting, a new high efficiency gas fired heating system, new interior French drain, and foam insulation.
This space is not only nice to look at but also warm, dry and efficient! The basement includes a full open concept space: a TV area with a large (egress window), a game area with ping pong table, an office space, and a laundry area. Each part of the basement was designed specifically for the family’s use and also shows their personality.
The house is now 2 floors of comfortable living space and this basement addition will forever change the look, feel and value of the home.
